This project was created as part of a college assignment and was not a paid campaign. It was designed to showcase my skills and understanding of communication strategies.

The Closca Bottle Classic is a sleek, reusable glass bottle designed for easy, on-the-go hydration. With a patented clip and optional infuser, it enhances both convenience and flavor while reducing single-use plastic waste.

Closca is dedicated to sustainability, offering innovative products like their reusable bottles and the Closca Water App, which together make a significant impact in reducing plastic pollution.

The campaign’s purpose is to connect Closca’s bottle with the urgent issue of coral reef conservation. As coral reefs lose their color and vitality due to plastic pollution, Closca offers a solution that not only reduces single-use plastic but also supports environmental restoration.

With 10% of bottle sales going directly to coral reef preservation, this campaign highlights the critical role these ecosystems play in protecting coastlines and supporting marine life. Inspired by the ability of reefs to regenerate and regain their color when threats are removed, the campaign envisions each buyer as part of a global community committed to protecting and revitalizing these unique ecosystems. By choosing Closca, consumers join a worldwide effort to restore and preserve these vibrant, life-sustaining habitats.

The oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, home to millions of species within their intricate ecosystems. Closca represents more than just a product; it embodies a lifestyle that respects and integrates the environment rather than exploiting it. Closca is not just aware of the issues; it takes action. With the Closca Bottle, you’re joining a movement—a revolution against rampant consumerism. You become part of a conscious society that believes in a healthier, more vibrant future for all.

In this campaign, we draw a powerful parallel between the life of coral reefs and our own. The decline of coral reefs is a direct consequence of human actions, particularly the rampant use of single-use plastics. By eliminating these plastics, we can significantly reduce pollution, allowing coral reefs to regenerate, reclaim their vibrant colors, and come back to life. This campaign portrays the real possibility of change—by choosing alternatives like the Closca Bottle over disposable plastic bottles, which have an average lifespan of just one hour.

After implementation, the project had the following impacts.

Learnings

This project, developed during my Communication course under the guidance of Luis Calabuig from odosdesign Studio, marked my first true immersion into art direction. It laid the foundation for the professional I am today. Working alongside my classmate Sara, we not only created a campaign but ignited a passion within me for art direction that has driven me ever since. This project wasn’t just a creative exercise; it sparked a journey.

I am forever grateful to Luis and Sara for their influence during this formative moment, where a simple spark grew into a fire that fuels my career. While I have explored and enjoyed other design disciplines, art direction remains my true calling. Crafting campaigns like this, which address pressing environmental issues and have the potential to create lasting, positive change, is what drives me. It’s what makes me excited to wake up each day and do work that matters, with passion and purpose.

Ultimately, this project cemented my belief in design’s power to transcend aesthetics and contribute to meaningful impact.
